What's the best type of packaging for shipping a computer?
I have a computer, but I threw out the original box, and I have to ship it from Germany (US military base) to the states. What's the best way to pakage it so it won't get damaged during shipping?|||First wrap it in bubble wrap. Then place the monitor and the tower in another. Make sure there is two inches of space on each side and tightly pack packing peanuts but dn't let the boxes bulge. Take another box (unless first boxes were double strength) and repeat with packing peanuts. It's extremely expensive. Might be better to buy a nw computer depending on how much your cmoputer is worth. Shipping in the states alone a package is dropped, kicked and tossed about 70 times.|||Wrap it in bubble wrap and use packing peanuts|||Stores that do shipping can do it best...for a price.|||fitted foam would be best.. but considering you probably can't find that you should use what the guy above me said. bubble wrap and foamy peanuts.|||I work in a factory that packages and ships computer parts...we use foam pads and bubble wrap...|||A *sturdy* cardboard box, and *lots* of foam peanuts. Remember to use good packing tape to fully seal the box too. Pour 2-3 inches of peanuts in the box, put the computer in, then fill on all sides and top with peanuts - you should have 2-3 inches between the computer and box on all sides.
