How to tell if a computer is really new?

Hi, I recently purchased a computer online, supposedly "Brand New," but I noticed that it was not in its original packaging, so I'm not sure if it is actually "brand new" as the seller claimed. Is there a simple way to tell whether or not a computer is actually refurbished/used? Many thanks in advance for the help.|||IT HAS STICKERS! :D|||If it's a brand name computer (e.g. Dell, Lenovo, HP...) then it should come with its original discs, manuals, and accessories. The first time you power on the computer it should walk you through the rest of the Windows installation process in which you setup networking, register, and other first-time tasks.

Also there should not be a sticker on the computer that says "This is a refurbished unit."

Refurbished means it was sold to someone who returned it. The computer cannot, by law, be sold as "new" even if the customer never powered it on. Such systems can be recertified by the vendor and sold as Refurbished - but must be clearly marked as such.|||well you could open it up and see if theres any dust inside. um you could check the bios date and see how recent it is.

not really sure how else.
