Vista is a little picky too about the settings - so you may have to try several combination before you get it to work...|||I presume the "package for AT%26amp;T to do wireless" is an ADSL modem / router / switch / wireless device (adsl modem router).





To enable the desktop to connect to the adsl modem router, you have two choices:





1. Run a straight CAT5 cable from desktop to network port of the adsl modem router





2. Purchase and install a wireless network interface for the desktop. This can be a USB or a PCI style device. We just bought a LDC TV and I am concerned about it. It can be connected to the Internet and all the computers on our network. We are on ATT uverse and we have installed the McAfee security package on our computers but I want to know if the Television is also protected from attack. It is a Samsung LN46B640|||Viruses only attack software. I suppose it is possible to create a virus that would attack the firmware of an LCD television but I've never heard of anything like that happening and really don't believe it would happen.|||TVs don't run MS software and nobody cares to attack them - Nothing to worry.

I want it to do anything and everything I could possibly want to do.|||Look to your local PC stores and get one built - you'll be able to get it built to best suit your needs and it will save you a bundle. You don't need to be some sort of computer expert - they should take however much time is needed to sit down with you and go through all your options.





Doing this will give you a computer to rival anything off the shelf, it will no be weighed down with a whole heap of proprietary/3rd party software which you'll never use (and will slow down most systems anyhow), and will save on the wallet, which means you'll be able to afford to get the bells and whistles which otherwise would have been out of your price-range.





Oh, and just a tip in regards to Vista - get the full copy on disc. Want to return a computer mouse?

I brought a computer mouse on 5/24/08 at Office Depot. I used it for 6 weeks then it wouldn't work anymore. I still had the original receipt but not the packaging. I tried to return it tonight but they wouldn't take it back. Can they do this? Can I do anything else to get my money back?





I don't want another one because it seemed as though it would probably break too. In the meantime, I got another mouse at Staples.|||Perhaps It's the brand of mouse. A week ago I bought a new wireless optical mouse, the very first time I tried it, it didn't work. So I returned it and swapped for another. I had bought a Gigaware, and exchanged the Gigaware for a logitech. As I later found out Logitech is the leading brand of mice, and Gigaware greatly fails in the mice field. I don't see why they wouldn't have taken it back if you had the receipt. Maybe they required the original packaging.|||It take a few weeks to get used to the pad instead of the mouse. But you can get a mouse so long as you have the drivers and then plug it to the USB port.

You really want to stick with logitech. Wireless has advanced to the point where it's great even for gaming. Laser is a given now. Mouse is one of the components you really don't want to skimp on. Logitech or nothing, IMHO

Where can I recycle styrofoam in the bay area?

I have the big styrofoam blocks from computer packaging and such. Can I dump them in the recycling bin?|||Styrofoam sadly can't go in the recycling|||Goodwill dropoff @ 7501 Schmidt Lane, El Cerrito, takes clean styrofoam (NO packing peanuts. Recycle those at any UPS store.)

|||Styrofoam cant be in the recycling. But if you throw it in the garabage, the styrofoam will NEVER break down like other garbage do. Just make some crafts from it or something.|||You can post thru Frecycle.org and maybe someone else can use it for a project they are working on.

Its really strait forward, even more when you get a "Barebone" kit. Its everything that a gaming computer needs, just some assembly required. If you know anything about computer hardware you should be able to put it together yourself. Barebone kits come with really good looking cases, good quality motherboard, CPU (you choose Intel or AMD) Video cards are a really big issue in gaming PCs. Most barebone kits have a kickass video card (depending on how much cash you are willing to dish out) Note that you might have to buy things like DVD Burner drives, Printers, Keyboards, Monitors ect. outside the barebone kit.
