Which is the best computer software security package?

i have read several computer mags, they seem to disagree as to which is the best complete security package....so which should i buy?|||i like Kaspersky, good parental controls if you have kids, blocks anything dodgy|||I like ESET software. I use the av product and Norton firewall. They have a package that includes their firewall. They use heuristics for catching viruses along with a virus signature data base. That is cool because it stops bad behavior even if the virus or Trojan hasn't made it into the database yet. It small tight code that doesn't waster resources, and it probably has the fastest scan known to mankind. Ok, well that might be an exaggeration, but it very very fast. It imposes the least burden on your computer.|||how little people know about computers,,,,, thomas2l... says get a mac you don't get viruses, how little he knows about the mac viruses and Trojans, others tell you to get this or that anti virus software,, well the truth is no anti virus software is going to help you from new unknown viruses. there are over 1000 viruses being released every week

In fact it is known by the Internet security companies and Microsoft that 1 in every 2 computers are zombie systems. controlled by hackers, and that there is a new virus out that there will not be a cure for until the end of this month, by that time it will have done it's job,

PC Tools security suite is good, but they'll only let you buy a 3 computer licence instead of a 1 user stand alone product which is a bit opportunistic.

G Data is a good, but little known one. They have 2 virus signatures, and once configured it's effective. You should try the free trials until you find one you're comfortable with.|||best of the best..... Kaspersky ofcourse.... ive tried em all, and this one hasn't had any issues i've encountered...

Mcafee..... doesn't always catch everything

Norton...... slows your system down....

Eset...... doesn't always catch everything

AVG..... is great, what mcafee didn't catch, avg would and would remove it quick

Avira/Avast..... don't always catch everything

BitDefender.... don't always catch everything/slows system down

Panda Security..... dont always catch everything

For paid version, i would recommend Kaspersky Internet Security.... But you can build your security suite on free versions.... AVG Antivirus, Comodo Firewall, Xoftspy SE Antispyware (paid version)|||Well, go with Desksense.com like me ... Am well protected now it's your turn to make your PC secured..

Thanks|||Its all a matter of opinion. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps|||Save your money and download AVG Free, never had any problems with this software

Had Norton and McAfee in the past and thought they slowed down my computer.|||the new MS security essentials is good, and not demanding, just chugs away quietly in the background.|||I would just get a Mac, you don't have to worry about virus's with Mac software.
