I need to get someone who will meet up with me in a pub or somewhere and go through the various software packages- e.g. gimp, photoshop, excel, publisher etc.. How do I find such a person? I found this guy and paid him ten pounds an hour for our first lesson, but he hasn't replied my mail afterwards?
Where to advertise?|||I hardly think "going through" software packages in a pub will be any good. Just look up some local computer classes - check for night school courses at local schools/colleges, libraries, community centres.
If you don't have the inclination to take classes, another way is to get some books. The "for Dummies" series of books are a great place to start.

You gave someone a tenner, and now they've gone - are you surprised?!?!?|||for ten pounds an hour, you would be lucky to get a brain injured waterfowl to tell you something about computers. the people with this knowledge know their service is a premium. You would be hard pressed to find their time at less than 30 GBP an hour.
