Is it bad to have more than one computer protection package on your PC?

I am wondering if it is bad to have more than one computer protection package (e.g. Norton, Kapersky) on your computer at the same time. And if it is, is it okay to have Avira AntiVir Personal and Spybot Search %26amp; Destroy together at the same time? Because Avira does not have anti-spyware and I believe Skybot S%26amp;D is the best anti-spyware software out there. Thanks in advance!|||It's okay to have more than one anti-spyware program. It's not okay to have more than one anti-virus program and firewall running at the same time.|||well you have to be careful , they can cancel each other out and cause gaps in the protection that can make the system vulnerable to problems .|||You MUST have ONE AntiVirus and ONE firewall at a time.

Anti-trojans, Anti-malware etc it doesnt need to be only one UNLESS you run them ALL together on startup or you scan with all at the same time.|||Its okay to have more then one computer protection plan on your computer but keep in mind the more you have, the slower your computer will get and the more chance of program conflicts you will have.

I run norton 360 2008 with spy-bot s%26amp;d and it has proven to be a very good combination for me.

You must keep in mind thought that if you have more then one protection package, they can start interfering with each other. EXAMPLE, two firewalls running on the same computer will not only slow down your computer a lot but could cause some internet funtions to not work and will make administering the computer a daunting task.|||One Anti-virus to rule them all

One Anti-Spyware to find them,

One Firewall to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
