Can I download a free and comprehensive computer security package?

My computer came with a McAfee free trial. I don't want to pay their prices and I'm happy to uninstall it. I also got a security package that appears similar from NTL (Netguard?), my broadband provider.





I just want to have one package that does everything, that doesn't conflict with other programs and that doesn't cost the world. And it is also very important that its virus protection is up to date and not inferior to other products.





Is this possible?|||There is no free package as in a suite; you have to use seperate products.





You need to install one firewall.


The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.

that will do the trick, go to CNET.com and inform yourself read the reviews on what people have to say. Most of them are free.|||I personally do not know of any free programs that will do it all - and I'm not sure if I would trust a free program to do it all.





There are indicidual programs that will do separate jobs live AV, Spyware, Firewall etc.





If you want a paid for option that is a little more expensive then the usual, but is extremely good, try Trend Micro.
